Wishlist Hearts on Product Cards and the Product Page Button

Where the hearts show up in your store, what the Wishlist button on the product page does, and how the floating button takes shoppers to their list.

Three ways to save, one list

Once setup is done, shoppers can save a product from three places, and all three add to the same list:

  • A heart on each product card, wherever your theme shows a grid of products.
  • The Wishlist button on the product page.
  • The floating Wishlist button, which doesn't save anything itself: it shows how many products are saved and opens the wishlist page.

A product is saved only when a shopper taps. The app never saves anything on its own, for example on a product a shopper looked at twice.

Hearts on product cards

The heart sits in the top corner of each product's photo. Tap it once and it fills in with the saved colour (pink by default). Tap it again and the product comes off the list.

Hearts show on every product card the embed finds, not only on collection pages:

  • Collection pages and the all-products catalog.
  • Search results.
  • Featured products and featured collections on the home page or any other page.
  • "You may also like" rows on product pages.

A product saved in one place shows as saved everywhere: save it from search, and its heart is filled on the collection page and its product page says Remove from wishlist.

Cards that load later, for example when a shopper scrolls to the next page of an infinite-scroll collection or opens a quick-view, get their hearts as they appear.

The Wishlist button on the product page

The product page has its own button, added in step 2 of setup. It reads Add to wishlist with an empty heart. Once the product is saved, it reads Remove from wishlist with a filled heart.

The button is an app block, a piece an app adds that you place like any other block, so you can move it anywhere in the product information section in the theme editor, and you can show the heart alone without the words. Both are in Customize the icon, floating button and wording.

The floating Wishlist button

The floating button sits at the bottom right of every page. It appears once a shopper has saved something, and shows how many products are on their list. Tapping it opens the wishlist page.

You can change its label, move it to the bottom left, or turn it off if your menu link is enough. Shoppers can still reach the page from the menu link you added in setup.

When a save doesn't work

If a save can't reach your store, for example when the shopper's connection drops, the heart goes back to empty and a short message says Couldn't save. Try again. Nothing is half-saved.

A list holds up to 100 products. A shopper who tries to save the 101st sees Your wishlist is full. and the heart stays empty. Both messages are settings you can reword.

Turning the hearts off on one theme

The hearts come from the embed, so switching Wishlist hearts off in App embeds removes the hearts, the floating button and the joining of guest lists at login. The product page button keeps working, because it is a separate block. To keep the hearts but hide the floating button, untick Show the floating button in the embed's settings instead.
