Make a printable event ticket in minutes

An event ticket does two jobs at once. It is the pass the attendee shows at the door, and it is the record the gate keeps to reconcile who came in. This free event ticket maker builds both halves in one design: a main body the attendee keeps and a tear-off stub the gate keeps, joined by a dashed perforation line. You pick a template, type your event details, choose a size, and download a print-ready file. There is no signup and no watermark.

Most "event ticket template" results are static files you open in Word or a design app and fight with. This is a real generator. The live preview updates as you type, the perforation and cut guides are drawn for you, and the export is sized so a printed ticket comes out at its true finished size.

What goes on an event ticket

A good ticket answers the door staff's questions at a glance and reads clearly from a phone photo. The tool gives you a field for each part, and every template shows only the fields that style needs, so nothing on the form is dead.

  • Event name. The headliner, the matchup, the film, or the party title. This is the biggest line on the ticket.
  • Date and time. Doors, kick-off, showtime, or start. Keep it in the format your guests expect.
  • Venue or location. The building, gate, or address.
  • Section, row, and seat. Reserved-seating events need these; general-admission events can leave them blank and they hide.
  • Ticket type or tier. General Admission, VIP, Day Pass, Patron, Runner Entry, and so on.
  • Price. Shown with your chosen currency symbol, or left blank for invite-only events.
  • Admission line. The classic "ADMIT ONE" (or "Admit One Little Guest" for a kids party).
  • Fine print. Non-refundable terms, a dress code, or a sponsor line.
  • Serial number. The unique ticket number, printed on both the body and the stub.

You do not have to fill every field. Any field you leave empty is hidden from the ticket, so a stripped-down general-admission pass and a full reserved-seat ticket both come out clean.

The tear-off stub and the perforation

The stub, also called a counterfoil, is the net-new part of this tool compared with a plain flyer. It is a fixed slice of the ticket, about 28 percent of the long side, separated by a dashed perforation line with two punch notches. At the gate, staff tear the stub off along the perforation and keep it. The attendee keeps the body.

For the stub to be useful, it has to reconcile back to its ticket. That is why the stub repeats the event name, the date, and, most important, the same serial number as the body. If ticket A-0042 is torn, stub A-0042 is what the gate holds. The tool guarantees this: the body and the stub read the same number from one source, so they can never disagree.

You control the stub. Turn it on or off with a switch. Move it to either end of the ticket. On a landscape ticket the stub sits on the left or the right; on a portrait ticket it sits on the top or the bottom, and the control relabels itself to match what you see. The perforation line and its notches are drawn as part of the image, so they survive the export and print on the real ticket.

Sequential numbering for a whole run

A single ticket is fine for a poster mockup, but real events need a numbered run. Switch to the Numbered sheet tab, set a start value and a count, and the tool builds the full sequence.

The start value is smart about prefixes. Type a plain number like 100 and you get 100, 101, 102, and so on. Type A-0001 and the tool keeps the A- prefix and the four-digit zero padding, so you get A-0001, A-0002, A-0003, up through the count you set. This is how raffle books and admission runs are numbered, and it means you can hand out tickets in order and match a returned stub to its record.

Every ticket on the sheet is the same design with its own number, printed on both the body and the stub. You can number a run of up to five hundred in one export.

Real print-shop sizes

Ticket stock is a real physical size, so the presets here match what print shops actually cut. The finished sizes are drawn from vendor product pages at UPrinting and GotPrint.

PresetSize (inches)Best for
Classic event ticket2 x 5.5Portrait raffle and event tickets
Wide event ticket5.5 x 2Landscape general admission
Large concert ticket8.5 x 3.5A big stub-on-the-side concert look
Compact event ticket2.75 x 5.5A slightly wider portrait ticket
CustomYour inchesAny size that fits the sheet

The single-ticket PDF is sized to the exact finished inches, where 1 inch equals 72 points. A 2 by 5.5 inch ticket exports a 2 by 5.5 inch PDF page (144 by 396 points). Print at 100 percent scale with no fit-to-page and the ticket comes out at its true size, ready to trim.

The numbered sheet closes to the page

When you print a run, you want a full sheet of tickets you can cut apart, not one ticket per page. The Numbered sheet tab tiles your tickets edge-to-edge on a US Letter or A4 page and centers the grid, so the layout closes to the paper by construction and never spills off the edge. If you pick a custom size too big to fit even once, the tool warns you instead of clipping.

Dashed cut guides are drawn on the sheet as part of the image, so they survive the export. Run a paper cutter or scissors along the guides to separate the tickets, and each ticket already shows its own perforation line for the stub. A multi-page run exports as a ZIP of PNGs or a single multi-page PDF.

Eight ticket templates

One page serves a whole family of ticket searches because the gallery has eight styles, and each one fills the fields that style needs.

  • Concert. Bold display type, an accent bar, a big headliner, and a QR code for check-in.
  • Gala. An elegant serif, centered layout, gold rule lines, and a dress-code note.
  • Sports. Strong bands and a prominent section, row, and seat block for a match ticket.
  • Conference. A clean sans layout with an ADMIT ONE line, a pass-type pill, and a QR check-in code.
  • Fundraiser. A warm theme with a suggested-donation line and a sponsor footer.
  • Cinema. The classic movie-stub look with screen, row, seat, and showtime.
  • Kids party. A playful rounded card with a big friendly title and an "Admit One Little Guest" line.
  • Blank. A structure-only layout that shows every field, as a neutral starting point.

Each template comes with a signature color theme and font, and every one renders both a body and a matching stub. Click Fill example to load realistic sample data for the selected style, or Reset to clear back to a blank ticket.

QR codes that actually scan

Some templates include a QR field. When you enter a check-in or event URL, the tool renders a real QR code that decodes to exactly that link, and bakes it into the PNG, PDF, and SVG export. This is a working code, not a decorative pattern, so a guest can scan the printed ticket to open your check-in page. The serial number is also printed as plain text next to it, so staff can reconcile a ticket by hand when a scanner is not available.

Colors, fonts, and exports

Every template has a look you can change. Switch between the built-in color themes, set a custom accent and text color, and pick from a large font list. Your choices apply to the live preview and to every export, single or bulk.

You get three export formats. PNG is the everyday raster file for sharing or printing. PDF is sized to the true finished dimensions for a clean print. SVG is the vector file for a design tool or a professional printer. None of them carry a watermark.

Tips for a clean print run

  • Print a single test ticket first and measure it with a ruler to confirm your printer is at 100 percent scale.
  • Use a slightly heavier cardstock (around 200 to 250 gsm) so the stub tears cleanly along the perforation.
  • Keep the fine print short. Long paragraphs shrink the rest of the ticket to fit.
  • For reserved seating, fill section, row, and seat; for general admission, leave them blank and use the tier field instead.
  • Number your run in the Numbered sheet tab rather than editing the number by hand, so the body and stub always match.

Frequently asked questions

Is this event ticket maker free?

Yes, it is 100% free with no signup and no watermark. Design and download as many event tickets as you want as PNG, PDF, or SVG files, one at a time or as a numbered printable sheet.

What is the tear-off stub on an event ticket?

The stub, also called a counterfoil, is the small section separated by a dashed perforation line that the gate keeps when the attendee tears it off. It repeats the event name, date, and the same ticket number as the main body so a torn stub always reconciles back to its ticket. You can turn the stub on or off and move it to either end.

Can I make a whole set of numbered tickets at once?

Yes. Switch to the Numbered sheet tab, set a start number and a count, and every ticket tiles onto a US Letter or A4 sheet with its own sequential number on both the body and the stub. A start value like A-0001 keeps the prefix and increments the digits (A-0001, A-0002, and so on), so you can number a full run in one export.

What size is an event ticket?

Common finished event and raffle ticket sizes are 2 by 5.5 inches, 5.5 by 2 inches, 8.5 by 3.5 inches, and 2.75 by 5.5 inches. These match real print-shop stock from vendors like UPrinting and GotPrint, and all are built-in presets alongside a custom size in inches. The single-ticket PDF is sized to the exact finished inches so it prints at 100% scale.

Do the tickets have a real, scannable QR code?

Yes. On the templates with a QR field you enter a check-in or event URL, and the tool renders a real QR code that decodes to exactly that link. It is baked into the PNG, PDF, and SVG export, so guests can scan the printed ticket. The ticket number is also shown as clear text for manual reconciliation.

Which ticket styles can I make?

The gallery has eight templates: concert, gala, sports, conference, fundraiser, cinema, kids party, and a blank structure-only layout. Each fills the fields that style needs, from section, row, and seat for sports to a suggested-donation line for fundraisers, and every one renders both a body and a matching stub.

Will the printed sheet line up when I cut it?

Yes. The bulk sheet tiles tickets edge-to-edge and centers the grid on the page, so it closes to the paper by construction and never overflows. Dashed cut guides are drawn as part of the image, so they survive the export and give you a line to run a paper cutter or scissors along. The perforation line prints on each ticket so you know where to tear the stub.

Can I use my own colors and fonts?

Yes. Each template comes with a signature color theme and font, and you can switch to any of the built-in themes, set a custom accent and text color, and choose from a large font list. Your choices apply to the live preview and to every export, single or bulk.
