Choose a tag shape

Gift tag sizes

Printing at the right size matters, especially if you plan to buy pre-cut tag blanks or matching envelopes. The size presets use real inches:

• Classic swing tag: 2 by 3.5 inches. The most common gift tag size.
• Square: 2.5 inches or 2 inches. Modern and tidy.
• Mini tag: 2.75 by 1.5 inches. Good when you want many small tags on one page.
• Circle: 2.5 inches across.

You can also set a custom width and height in inches. When you download the PDF, the page is sized to the tag's true dimensions, so it prints one to one as long as you set the printer scale to 100% and turn off fit to page.

Print and cut your gift tags

1. Download the PDF for the crispest print, or the PNG if you prefer an image.
2. Open the file and print at 100% scale on card stock. Card stock holds up better than plain paper and is easier to tie onto a gift.
3. Cut along the edge of each tag. For the classic swing tag, punch the hole with a standard hole punch where the printed hole sits.
4. Thread twine, baker's string, or thin ribbon through the hole and knot it.

Card stock between 200 and 300 gsm works well. If your printer struggles with thick stock, print on regular paper and glue it to a cereal-box backing.
